Fine Line Tattoo in Canggu: Same-Day Pieces, Real Prices, Honest Advice
Fine line tattoos at our Pererenan studio in Canggu: what we check before we draw, what it costs, and how to fit fresh ink around surf, sun and scooter rides.

Yes, you can get a fine line tattoo in Canggu this week, often today. Our original studio is in Pererenan, the quiet side of Canggu, about 5 minutes from Pererenan Beach and 10 from Batu Bolong. We're open every day from 9:00 to 21:00.
Fine line is the style Amor Fati is known for. The Canggu studio alone is rated 5.0 across 890+ Google reviews.
This page is the practical version: how a fine line piece actually happens here, what it costs, and the few honest things we tell everyone before they sit down.

How it works if you message us today
Most people find us the same way. They've saved a few photos, they've got a rough idea of where it goes, and they've got maybe four days left on the island.
That's enough to start. Send the Canggu studio three things on WhatsApp:
- your reference images (two or three is plenty)
- roughly how big, in everyday terms: "smaller than a credit card", "palm-sized", "the length of my forearm"
- where on your body, ideally with a photo of the spot
You'll get an honest price range the same day. We mainly work by appointment, and walk-ins are welcome when an artist is free. A small piece can often happen that afternoon, and a small deposit holds the slot if your dates are tight.
What we check before anyone draws
Here's the part people don't expect. Before the design is drawn, the artist looks at four things, and sometimes the answer changes your idea a little.
Size against detail. Fine lines settle slightly as skin heals. Tiny lettering or a very busy flower can close up over the years, so we often suggest going slightly bigger. It's the single most common piece of advice we give.
Spacing. Your artist may leave more room between elements than your reference shows. Same reason: it keeps each line readable at year five as well as on day one.
Placement. A forearm, upper arm or calf holds thin linework well. Fingers, hands, feet, ankles, elbows and knees bend and rub all day, and fine line there fades faster. We'll tell you that before we start, and for those spots you sign a short placement form so it's on paper.
Your skin today. We don't tattoo sunburnt skin. If you spent yesterday at Echo Beach without sunscreen, we'll move you a day or two. It's annoying for a day and saves the piece.

Then the artist draws your custom design. Custom design is included, and the session only starts when you're happy with the drawing on the stencil.
What a fine line tattoo costs in Canggu
We price per design, never per hour. The number is agreed before the needle touches skin, and a fast artist never costs you more.
Small fine line pieces start around 850K IDR. From there the price moves with size, detail level and placement, which is why we ask for the reference first instead of guessing.
For anything bigger or more complex, the artist does a free consultation of 20 to 30 minutes and gives you the exact price at the end of it. Card payments carry a 3% fee. Cash is welcome.

Fitting fresh ink around a Canggu week
Canggu life is hard on a new tattoo. Three things, specifically.
The surf. Salt water softens a fresh tattoo's scab before your skin is ready to let it go, and thin lines have no spare ink to hide the damage. Plan on two to three weeks out of the ocean and the pool. If you're here to surf, get tattooed at the end of the trip. We'd rather move your date than watch a good piece heal badly.
The scooter. A forearm on the handlebars sits in full sun on every ride to Berawa and back. Wear a light long sleeve for the first weeks, or pick a placement that lives under your clothes.
The heat. Sweat keeps healing skin damp. Skip the hard gym sessions and the sauna for about two weeks, wear loose clothes, and sleep in air conditioning if your villa has it.
The full routine is in our tattoo aftercare guide for Bali.
Fine line heals softer. That's the style.
People sometimes message us three weeks later worried that the lines look lighter than on the first day. That's normal for fine line. It heals softer, which is part of the look, and we explain it before you book so it's not a surprise.
If a line does heal lighter than you'd like, you get one free touch-up after healing when you're back in Bali, at any of our three studios. Many of our clients come back for it.

The Pererenan studio
This is where Amor Fati started. It's air-conditioned and private, a calm room off the busy part of Canggu, with resident artists covering fine line, realism, micro-realism, floral, geometric and blackwork.
Single-use needles are opened in front of you. Ask to see it, we're happy to show you.
Before you message, browse the fine line portfolio and save the two or three pieces you keep coming back to. They'll tell the artist more than a long description. The Canggu studio page has the map and directions.
