A tattoo studio in Uluwatu, run the Amor Fati way

Amor Fati Uluwatu is our tattoo and piercing studio on Jl. Pantai Bingin, in Pecatu. You will find it beside Bambu Fitness, between Padang Padang and the Uluwatu temple turn-off, with parking in front.

It runs the same standard as Canggu and Seminyak and charges the same prices: the same residents rotate through all three, the same single-use needle policy, one quote per design agreed before anyone starts. Joe FineLine, Georgiy, Valerian, Elvano and Carmen work out of this room. Open 9am to 9pm, every day.

Tattoo and piercing in Uluwatu, in one visit

Both, in the same room, on the same day. Tattooing and piercing run side by side here, 9am to 9pm daily, so if one of you wants ink and the other wants an ear done you are not booking two appointments in two places.

They are separate jobs done by separate people, which is worth saying because plenty of studios treat one as a sideline. The residents tattoo; Ricki and Agus pierce. Single-use needles for both, never a gun, and implant-grade titanium in every fresh piercing.

The artists who work at the Uluwatu studio

Joe FineLine, Georgiy Marshalov, Valerian, Elvano Pratama and Carmen tattoo out of Uluwatu, with Ricki and Agus on piercing. They're residents, not a rotating cast of guests, so the person who draws your piece is the person who tattoos it.

They don't all do the same thing, and that matters more than picking a studio. Tell us the style you're after and we'll put you with whoever does it best, which sometimes means booking around one person's week rather than taking the first free chair. Send a reference on WhatsApp and we'll tell you honestly who should do it.

Fine line, realism and micro-realism in Uluwatu

Fine line is the most requested style here as it is across all three studios: single-weight linework, drawn thin and kept thin, with no shading to hide behind. It suits script, small florals and ornamental work meant to read as jewellery.

Realism and micro-realism also happen in this room, and they're the pieces worth planning properly. A portrait or a micro-realism animal means a long sitting and a drawing that gets revised before a machine comes out, so message us well ahead rather than hoping for a walk-in slot. Small and minimalist work sits at the other end and usually fits in a single sitting.

What it costs, and how to book

One quote per design, agreed before we start, identical to Canggu and Seminyak. We don't price by the hour, because that charges you for the artist being slow and for you asking questions.

We can't quote blind. Send a reference, a rough size in centimetres and where it's going, and you'll have the number back the same day. Walk in and if a chair is free you'll be seen. In high season the day fills up early, so message first and we'll hold a slot.
