Pets, sea life and the animals that mean something to you. It is the most personal work we do and the most requested across all three studios — half of it booked from a photo on someone’s phone, half of it from something they saw diving that week.
Filters open the full portfolio with that selection applied.
The reference decides the tattoo. A sharp, well-lit photo taken at the animal’s eye level gives us the detail to work from; a dark phone snap from above does not, and no amount of skill invents fur that is not in the picture.
Send the best two or three you have and we will tell you which will translate. It is a five-minute conversation that changes the result more than anything else.
The same animal reads completely differently in the two styles. Fine line gives you a clean, graphic version that stays legible small and ages slowly. Micro-realism gives you likeness — the actual face of your dog — and needs more size and more grey to hold it.
For a pet you want recognisable, micro-realism at 8cm or more is usually the honest recommendation. For a symbol rather than a likeness, fine line at any size.
Turtles, manta rays and reef life are booked constantly here, most of it after a dive off Nusa Penida or the Gilis. These sit beautifully in fine line and light dotwork, and they are among the best first tattoos we do.
If it is specific to something you saw, tell us where. It changes the design in ways a stock reference cannot.
A pet portrait at 6–10cm runs 2M–5M IDR (≈ $124–$310). A small fine line animal starts at 850K IDR (≈ $52). Large or multi-session animal work is quoted after a free consultation.
Priced per design rather than per hour. Photorealistic likeness takes longer than a graphic treatment of the same subject and is priced accordingly.
Grey wash carries most animal work, and grey is what the sun takes first. A portrait built with real contrast — true blacks against clean skin — keeps its structure far longer than one built entirely in mid-greys.
We build in that contrast deliberately, which occasionally means a slightly bolder tattoo than the reference photo suggests. It is the difference between five years and fifteen.
Animal and portrait work sits with the resident artists across Canggu, Uluwatu and Seminyak. Pet portraits in particular tend to be matched to a specific artist — send your photo with the enquiry and we will route it to the right book.
Consultations are free whether or not you book on the day.
A pet portrait (6–10cm) — 2M – 5M IDR (≈ $124 – $310). Priced per design, never per hour. Card payments carry a 3% surcharge, stated before any link is sent.
Usually yes, if it is sharp and well lit. Take it at their eye level in daylight if you can. We will tell you honestly before you book whether the photo has enough in it.
For a recognisable likeness, around 8cm or more. Below that the features that make it *your* animal start to close up.
Yes, and it is one of the most common requests. Send the exact spelling and we will lay it out with the portrait rather than bolt it on.
Often. Tell us in the enquiry so we give the appointment the time and the quiet it deserves.

Tell us what you're carrying and where you want it. We'll draw it, quote it once, and hold a slot for you.
All three run the same level of artists, the same standard and the same prices. Pick whichever is closer, we answer on WhatsApp.
