About the lip & labret

Lip and labret piercings pass from outside to inside the mouth, so aftercare happens on both sides. They settle quickly compared to cartilage, but the internal end has to be flat-backed and correctly sized or it will wear on your gums and teeth.

Aftercare for this placement

  • Rinse with saline after every meal, coffee and cigarette
  • No alcohol mouthwash, it will delay healing
  • The downsize matters here: a long bar damages gums
