About the septum

A septum goes through the thin membrane just below the cartilage, the sweet spot, not through the cartilage itself. Placed correctly it heals well and can be worn flipped up when you need it out of sight. Placed badly it is painful and never sits straight.

Aftercare for this placement

  • Flipping it up early will irritate it, wait
  • Saline twice daily, both sides
  • Expect a few sneezes in the first week
