Booking a tattoo in Bali takes one WhatsApp message. Send a reference image, the size in centimetres and the placement, and our team replies with an honest price range the same day.
Amor Fati has three studios (Canggu, Uluwatu and Seminyak) rated 5.0 across 1,500+ Google reviews and open daily from 9:00 to 21:00. Walk-ins are welcome every day for small pieces and piercings.
How Booking Works, Step by Step
No forms, no deposit before you know the price, no guessing. This is the whole process.
Step 1: Message the studio on WhatsApp
Send three things: a reference image, the size in centimetres, and where on your body you want it. Tell us which studio suits you: Canggu (Pererenan), Uluwatu (Bingin) or Seminyak (Kayu Aya).
No reference yet? Describe the idea and we will take it from there.
Step 2: Get an honest price range the same day
You get a real number, not "it depends, come in." The range moves with size, placement, detail and style. That is why we ask for those three things first. We price per design, never per hour, so a fast artist never costs you extra.
Step 3: For custom work, a free design consultation
Custom pieces start with a free design consultation, in the studio or over WhatsApp. The exact price is agreed per design before the session, before anyone picks up a machine.
A deposit secures your date and your artist's design time. Deposits are non-refundable, so lock in a date you are sure about.
Step 4: Or just walk in
Walk-ins are welcome daily at all three studios for small pieces and piercings, and most happen the same day. Come in, talk to the receptionist, show your idea, and if an artist is free you are in the chair.
Already have a reference on your phone? Send it with your size and placement and you will get a real price range the same day. No pressure, no follow-up spam: WhatsApp Canggu · WhatsApp Uluwatu · WhatsApp Seminyak.
What to Send in Your First Message
- A reference image. A screenshot from Instagram or Pinterest is perfect — it shows style better than any description.
- Size in centimetres. Measure roughly on your skin. Not sure? Tell us the placement and we will suggest what holds up well at that size.
- Placement. Forearm, ribs, ankle — each heals differently in Bali heat and sun, and it moves the price.
- Which studio. Canggu, Uluwatu or Seminyak.
- Your dates. When you land and when you fly home. It lets us plan the session around healing, not against it.
What a Tattoo in Bali Costs
Fine-line pieces under 4cm start from 850K IDR. Small custom work usually lands between 1M and 2.5M, medium pieces between 3M and 9M, and large work between 5M and 15M. The exact number depends on size, placement, detail and style.
The price is agreed per design before the session, never per hour.
Cash is preferred; card payments carry a 3% surcharge, and you will know both numbers before you commit to anything.

Timing: Plan Around the Ocean, Not Just the Session
A fresh tattoo stays out of the ocean and pools for three to four weeks. Salt water softens the scab before your skin is ready to let it go. It's the fastest way to ruin new work.
If you are here to surf every morning, book the session for the end of the trip. If the beach is optional, book early in your stay so we can check the healing before you fly.
Staying in Uluwatu? Our guide to planning a fine line piece on the Bukit covers surf timing and same-day availability.
Leave a few days between the session and a long-haul flight, ideally five or more. Cabin air is dry, and dry is hard on fresh skin.
Common Booking Questions
Do I need to book a Bali tattoo weeks in advance? No. Small pieces and piercings work as walk-ins daily, usually same-day. For custom work, a few days ahead is plenty; message us when you land, or before your trip if you want the design ready when you arrive.
How much does a tattoo in Bali cost? Fine-line under 4cm starts from 850K IDR; small custom runs 1M–2.5M, medium 3M–9M, large 5M–15M. Always priced per design, never per hour.
Is the deposit refundable? No. The deposit secures your date and the artist's design time, so choose a date you are sure about. The full price is agreed before you pay anything.
Can I pay by card? Yes, with a 3% surcharge. Cash is preferred.
What is the minimum age for a tattoo at Amor Fati? 21. Under 21 we tattoo only with a parent's written consent.
Which studio should I choose? The one nearest you. Canggu sits in Pererenan, Uluwatu in Bingin, Seminyak on Kayu Aya, all open daily 9:00 to 21:00. Same standard in all three: single-use needles opened in front of you, resident artists you can come back to, and a price agreed before the machine is picked up.
