Tattoos that carry an idea rather than a picture. Classical statuary, sacred geometry, hourglasses and scales, personal iconography assembled into one composition. The style where what it means to you decides what it looks like.
Filters open the full portfolio with that selection applied.
Conceptual work starts from a conversation rather than a photograph. You bring the meaning — a decision, a loss, a discipline you keep — and we build a composition that carries it. That takes longer at the design stage than any other style we do.
The pieces that work have one idea and three or four elements. The ones that fail try to fit an entire life story onto a forearm; every element competes and none of them lands.
Greek and Roman statuary for permanence and stoicism. Hourglasses, scales and moon phases for time and judgement. Sacred geometry for order. Anatomical hearts for the literal and the felt at once. These recur because they read instantly.
We will happily go outside it. But a symbol nobody recognises has to earn its place through the composition instead, and that is a harder tattoo to make work.
Fine geometric lines, dotted paths and framing circles do the connecting work — they turn separate objects into one piece rather than a collection. That connective tissue is what separates a conceptual composition from a patchwork.
We plan the whole layout before the first session, even when it will be built over several. Adding elements to a finished piece rarely looks planned, because it was not.
A conceptual forearm composition runs 3M–8M IDR (≈ $186–$495). Smaller single-element pieces start around 1.5M IDR (≈ $93). Half sleeves and larger builds are quoted after a free consultation, and priced as one piece rather than per session.
Design time is real time here. For anything over 10cm we book a free 20–30 minute consultation before quoting, because the price depends on how much drafting the idea needs.
These pieces live on fine linework and grey wash, which means placement and sun exposure decide their lifespan more than the design does. Built with genuine contrast — true black anchoring the greys — the composition keeps its structure for many years.
Where a design leans entirely on very fine grey, we will say so and add weight somewhere. It is the difference between a piece that reads at arm’s length in ten years and one that does not.
Conceptual work is matched to the artist rather than the diary — it depends more on a particular hand than most styles. Send your idea in the enquiry, in words if you have no reference, and we will route it to the right book across Canggu, Uluwatu or Seminyak.
Consultations are free whether or not you book on the day.
A conceptual forearm composition — 3M – 8M IDR (≈ $186 – $495). Priced per design, never per hour. Card payments carry a 3% surcharge, stated before any link is sent.
That is the normal starting point for this style. Bring the meaning and any objects that matter to you; the composition is our job.
Yes, and this is most of what we do here. Three or four elements is where it stays coherent — beyond that we will usually suggest splitting it.
A forearm composition is typically one 4–6 hour sitting. Half sleeves run to two or three, planned as one design up front.
Often, yes — conceptual layouts absorb existing work better than most. Send a daylight photo of the area and we will tell you honestly.

Tell us what you're carrying and where you want it. We'll draw it, quote it once, and hold a slot for you.
All three run the same level of artists, the same standard and the same prices. Pick whichever is closer, we answer on WhatsApp.
